Getting Around Mijas Golf area and the Costa
del Sol |
The villa is tucked away in a rural areas from
the main road to Alhaurin and the masses offering a fabulous
secluded and luxury holiday location with amazing views. If
you want to explore the immediate area around the villa you
can wander directly across the road up into the hills. The
climb is steep but very worthwhile for the amazing view back
down over the valley. |
| You can also walk along the road from the
villa into the Mijas Hills for some spectacular scenery. Keep
going following the road, which isn't busy and it will eventually
after about 5km bring you out onto the main road some 4km
nearer to Alhaurin than the turn-off for the villa. Or you
can drive like we did! |

| Bottom line: The property
is situated in a rural area, and whilst only a few minutes
drive away from the centre of the action, in our experience
you will need a car to make the most of your holiday. |

La Cala
|
The villa's secluded location is less than
5 minutes by car from Mijas Golf, 5-10 minutes from La Cala
(nearest beach), Fuengirola and 15 minutes from Mijas village.
A car will also help you to explore the Costa del Sol and
Andalucia in general, and for getting to play the numerous
local golf courses including the 2 Mijas Golf courses. |
Car hire prices vary dependent on the time
of year and size of car, but as a guideline our usual company
charges about €90 for a Nissan Micra including
full insurance for a week in the high season. We can give
you the contact details for the operator we use when you book. |
Public Transport |
| Buses run at regular intervals
between Malaga, Mijas Costa, La Cala and Fuengirola etc but
don't run up to the villa so as already mentioned you will
need a car.
Buses to Malaga, depart from Fuengirola.
The nearest train station to Mijas Golf is in Fuengirola
from where you can get trains to all over the Costa del Sol

Taxis |
| The transfer from Malaga airport, takes about
20-25 minutes and should
cost about €20-25 each way.
Taxis to La Cala and Fuengirola, 10 minutes away from the
villa, cost about €10-15
each way. |
