The Golf Courses at Mijas Golf
|
|
|
|
There are 2 golf courses at Mijas back to back, both of which
were originally designed by the famous golf architect Robert
Trent Jones and offer different tests of golfer's abilities.
For your convenience Mijas Golf also provides places to buy
water and other drinks and also has toilets at various places
around the two golf courses as well as at the club house.

Los Lagos Golf Course, Mijas Golf
|
|
The first golf course, Los Lagos, is over 25 years old, so
golf in Mijas is well established. The Los Lagos golf course
is a par 71 course which features wide fairways, large raised
greens, numerous bunkers and as its name suggests lots of
water hazards. The course is virtually flat except at the
18th hole.

Los Olivos Golf Course, Mijas Golf
|
|
The second golf course, Los Olivos has recently been completely
refurbished by Cabell Robinson. The changes include increasing
the size of the greens by 50% and changing the layout of much
of the par 70 course. The Los Olivos course does however remain
different to Los Lagos as it is still shorter, narrower, has
less water features, more trees and a more undulating terrain.

Green fees and other costs at Mijas Golf
|
|
Guest fees at Mijas Golf currently range from €39 to
€69 dependent on the time of year. The busiest time for
golf in Mijas and the rest of the Costa del Sol is unsurprisingly
from October to April. This is as the weather at that time
of year in the UK and Northern Europe as a whole is shall
we say less welcoming than the mild Spanish climate!

Golf clubs can be rented from €20, golf buggies from
€40 and hand trolleys from €4. Prices can change
without notice so do check first with Mijas Golf club.
It is worth noting before you rush off to rent a set of
golf clubs we have a set in the villa which you can borrow
whilst you are on holiday.
Mijas Golf requires you to have a handicap certificate so
if you have one don't forget to pack it! You should double
check with Mijas Golf if you have a high handicap, but at
the time of writing the maximum handicap was 36 for ladies
and 28 for men.

Golf Lessons at Mijas Golf
|
|
If you are new to golf or want to improve your game whilst
on your Costa del Sol golf holiday Mijas Golf has two golf
pros that provide courses and individual golf lessons for
adults and children.
If you are interested in tuition it is worth enquiring in
advance to avoid any disappointment as the golf club can be
very busy.

The 19th Hole at Mijas Golf
|
|
The club house at Mijas Golf is a refurbished Spanish farm
house and offers a warm welcome to all golfers and their families.
After a hard day of golf you can relax either in the newly
refurbished restaurant which has live sport on tv or you can
relax out on the terrace at the club house. Mijas Golf also
puts on barbecues in the summer. Alternatively it is only
a very short drive back to the rental villa.
Mijas Golf has a comprehensively stocked golf shop right
next to the reception, so if you have left any of your golfing
attire or equipment at home don't worry. Alternatively if
you simply want to treat yourself to something new you can.
