| The weather inland from the coast is more
extreme, being hotter in the summer and colder in the winter.
In the Sierra Nevada mountains snow is found almost all year
round above 3000m.
Rainfall is highest in the winter months but there is little
rain between June and September. Western Andalucia is wetter
than Eastern Andalucia thanks to the prevailing winds from
the Atlantic Ocean.
The villa accommodation is in Malaga province in Western
Andalucia 5-10 minutes drive from La Cala beach as shown below.
Daily sunshine hours in Malaga (the nearest weather station
to the apartment) range from an average of 5 hours in the
winter to as many as 11 hours in the summer.
With over 320 sunny days a year you can see why they call
this part of Spain the Costa del Sol!
Water temperature in the Mediterranean along most of the
Costa del Sol is typically around a pleasant 68F/ 20C from
July to October and around 59F/15C from December to April. |
